Adolescent Counselling
Creating Safe Spaces for Young People and Families to Heal, Grow & Connect
At Mindkshetra, we specialise in counselling services for children, adolescents, and young people that support emotional, mental health and relational wellbeing. Our sessions help children and young people aged 6–25 explore emotions, develop coping skills and strengthen connections within their family and wider support systems.
Led by a trained child and adolescent counsellor, our approach combines clinical insight, culturally attuned practice, creativity and compassion. We offer evidence-based counselling tailored to each young person’s developmental stage, cultural context and emotional needs.
Mindkshetra is based in Wentworthville, and offers both in-person and online support.

Why Kids and Teens
Need Safe Therapeutic Spaces
Growing up today comes with complex pressures—academic stress, social media influence, identity challenges, family expectations and cultural influences. Many children and young people struggle to express what they feel, often leading to issues such as anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm or behavioural problems.
Counselling provides a confidential, supportive space where adolescents can pause, reflect and gain emotional clarity. With guidance from a qualified counsellor, they learn ways to regulate emotions, improve resilience and build healthy relationships.
Supporting
Kids and Teens Through Counselling
At Mindkshetra, we support young people aged 6 to 25 through a mix of talk therapy and creative, reflective tools that make counselling approachable and engaging.
We offer:
- A safe, confidential space to process emotions and experiences
- Developmentally appropriate tools like storytelling, art, and metaphor
- An integrative therapeutic approach combining Narrative and Person-Centred Therapy
- Strategies to build emotional regulation, self-esteem, and resilience
Our counsellors are experienced in supporting neurodiverse children, young people with anxiety or trauma, and those navigating identity or social challenges.
Supporting Parents and Caregivers
Strengthening the Circle of Support Around Young People
At Mindkshetra, we understand that supporting young people also means supporting the adults who care for them. That’s why we offer dedicated parent and caregiver sessions as part of our counselling framework.
When a child or teen struggles emotionally, it can impact the entire family. Caregivers often feel unsure, guilty, or helpless. We help families build understanding, communication, and resilience, so the home environment becomes a safe base for healing and growth.
Why We Include Parents and Caregivers
in the Process
Children and adolescents don’t heal in isolation—their wellbeing is closely tied to the relationships and systems around them.
We recognise that:
- Parents are often the first to notice signs of distress
- Caregivers may feel uncertain about how to connect
- Family dynamics can both support and strain a young person’s wellbeing
- When caregivers feel informed and calm, progress is more sustainable
By working collaboratively with parents and caregivers, we strengthen the protective circle around every young person.
How We Support
Parents & Caregivers
Our parent and caregiver support services focus on understanding and empowerment—not blame. We offer:
- Parent consults before or during your child’s therapy journey
- Psychoeducation on behaviour, emotional development, and brain-based parenting
- Practical strategies for improving communication and emotional connection
- Guidance for parents’ own emotional wellbeing
- Space to reflect on intergenerational or cultural influences
Sometimes, parents and caregivers may benefit from having their own counselling sessions. We provide a confidential, compassionate space to explore these experiences, too.
A Strength-Based,
Culturally Attuned Approach
Parenting today often means balancing intergenerational values, migration stories, and modern pressures. At Mindkshetra, we honour the cultural and emotional wisdom families bring while offering gentle, practical tools for today’s world.
Whether you’re a neurodiverse child’s parent, a single caregiver feeling stretched, or navigating adolescence for the first time—we walk beside you with empathy and understanding.
Why It Matters
When parents learn to regulate their own emotions, model healthy coping, and respond with curiosity rather than fear, it creates a ripple effect of safety and connection.
This whole-system approach leads to:
- Sustainable emotional growth
- Improved communication and relationships
- Lasting resilience for both child and family
